Welcome to our Class 1 Page!
Your child’s teacher is going to be Mrs Venebales and our class teaching assistant is Mrs Kelsall. We are all very excited for your child to join us and are looking forward to learning together in our new class!
Meet your Teachers
Hello! My name is Mrs Venables and I am your Class Teacher. I am married with two teenage children and also have two cats ‘Fizz’ and ‘Boo’. I love spending time with my family enjoying outdoor activities such as camping, canoeing and skiing. If I manage to find time to relax I do this by gardening or reading. For the last ten years I have worked at Foljambe Primary and had the pleasure of getting to know many wonderful families in this close and caring community. Most of my teaching career has been spent teaching Early Years which is my absolute favourite age group. Learning is so exciting!! I like to engage the children with learning that is fun, interactive and creative. I am looking forward to teaching at Thrybergh Primary and can’t wait to see you all in school.
Class 1 Teacher
My name is Mrs. Kelsall, here’s a little about myself and what I get up to when I am not working in school. In my spare time myself and my husband volunteer and run Rotherham Sea Cadets. I’m the Executive Officer and we teach children between 10-18 years of age. We help them to gain confidence and give them life skills to better prepare themselves for whatever life has in store for them. I presently hold the Royal Navy rank of Petty Officer and I get lots of enjoyment from it. I also have two children and we all do this hobby together as a family. This hobby does take most of my time up, but when I do get a few minutes I love craft and making cards.

Our New Learning
Next year our topics are Scrumdiddlyumptious, Ticket to Ride and On a Safari. In these topics, we are going to be learning about food, transport and different kinds of animals. We have planned some fantastic learning activities and know that you will really enjoy them!
This is given out every Friday and needs to be handed in by the following Wednesday. Please ensure that you do your homework as it ensures that you get extra practise of what we are learning at school. Homework will normally consist of spellings and some maths work. Children will also have a termly topic project to complete which hopefully will encourage them to be imaginative and creative.
We ask children to practise their reading book for 10 minutes each night as this will help them to become more fluent and ,confident readers.
We take part in PE lessons each week and ask children to arrive in their PE kit. They will need both an indoor and an outdoor kit. We will be in touch to arrange your child’s PE days once they are settled back into school.
All of the links below are brilliant resources that can be used to support pupil’s ongoing learning.
