Welcome to our Class 4 Page!
Your child’s teachers are going to be Miss Pearson and Mr Martindale & our class
teaching assistant is Mrs Thomas. We are all very excited for your child to join us and are looking forward to learning together in our new class!
Meet your Teachers
Hello! My name is Miss Pearson and I’m your class teacher alongside Mr Martindale. I thought I’d write a little bit to introduce myself before we return to school on the 8th March. I’ve been a teacher for around 11 years now and I absolutely love watching you all grow and learn.
When I’m not at school, I’m at home with my daughter Ava and step-daughter Paris. Ava is six years old and very bossy! Paris is almost eighteen years old. I also have a dog, he is a one-year-old Patterdale Terrier called Dave – I really enjoy taking him on long walks and snuggling up on the sofa with him. I love spending time with my family and cooking lots of tasty meals for them-my favourite meal is lasagne and garlic bread!
My favourite season is winter because I love it when it snows and I absolutely adore Christmas and decorating my house with lots of sparkly lights. I am so excited to meet you all and cannot wait to get to know you all!
Class 4 Teacher
Hi everybody, I’m Mr Martindale. I am really looking forward to meeting you all on the 8th March, but, in the meantime, here is some information about me.
At home I have 3 children keeping me busy; William is three years old and loves to use me as a climbing frame. I also have one year old twins Noah and Emmeline who are taking after their big brother.
I love spending time with my family, and we go on lots of nature walks to see what animals we can spot. I also really like exotic pets and animals and have a pet corn snake called Arthur.
I am really excited to get to know you all!

Hi everyone, Mrs Thomas here! I can’t wait to see you all when we are in our new class. Here is a little bit of information about myself – I love spending time with my family and walking my two dogs, Toby and Charlie.
I love taking my grandsons out and having them come over to my house for sleepovers. As a family, we all love watching football. We’re massive Rotherham United fans and love going to New York stadium to watch them play. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and I can’t wait to find out your hobbies and interests.

Our New Learning
Next year our topics will include World War 2, Rainforests and Coasts. We have planned some wonderful learning opportunities for the children and will hopefully be able to take part in some exciting class visits to further support our learning back at school.
This is given out every Friday and needs to be handed in by the following Wednesday. Please ensure that you do your homework as it ensures that you get extra practise of what we are learning at school. Homework will normally
consist of spellings and some maths work. Children will also have a termly topic project to complete which hopefully will encourage them to be imaginative and creative.
We ask children to practise their reading book for 10 minutes each night as this will help them to become more fluent and confident readers.
We take part in PE lessons each week and ask children to arrive in their PE kit.
They will need both an indoor and an outdoor kit.
We will be in touch to arrange your child’s PE days once they are settled back into school.
All of the links below are brilliant resources that can be used to support pupil’s ongoing learning.
