Class 7

Welcome to our Class 7 Page!

Your child’s teacher is going to be Mrs Croft and our class teaching assistant is Miss Longden. We are all very excited for your child to join us and are looking forward to learning together in our new class!

Meet your Teachers

Hi, everyone! I’m Ms Croft and I will be teaching Year 5/6 for the remainder of this academic year. You all know who I am but perhaps you don’t all know much about me! I have been teaching many years – and love it! I like all subjects but my absolute favourites are writing (I love words!), Maths and French. When I am not at school, I like to spend time with my family – I have two teenage boys. I also love to go walking, being out in the fresh air; reading; listening to music; cooking (my favourite meal is a home-cooked Sunday Roast!) and sometimes watching TV. I can’t wait to have you all back in school and in my classroom.

Hello my name is Miss Longden and I have been working at Dalton Foljambe school for 6 years as one of your Teaching Assistants. I have 3 Nephews and 1 Niece and I spend most of my time with them – taking them to the parks or going to the cinema. In my spare time I like to read books and travel – I love going to Scotland and seeing all my family there. I can’t wait to have you all back with us.

Our New Learning

Next year will be very exciting in year Six we have great topics:

World War 2 in the autumn term, Rainforest in the spring term and Coast to Coast in the summer term which includes our amazing residential visit to Scarborough.

Class Information

This is given out every Friday and needs to be handed in by the following Wednesday. Please ensure that you do your homework as it ensures that you get extra practise of what we are learning at school. Homework will normally consist of spellings and some maths work. Children will also have a termly topic project to complete which hopefully will encourage them to be imaginative and creative.

We ask children to practise their reading book for 10 minutes each night as this will help them to become more fluent and confident readers.

We take part in PE lessons each week and ask children to arrive in their PE kit.

They will need both an indoor and an outdoor kit.

We will be in touch to arrange your child’s PE days once they are settled back into school.
