WW2 History Day

On Thursday 10th December we had a great day in Y6! We wore our evacuee outfits and lots of children, and parents/carers had obviously put a great deal of effort into. It was fantastic because we looked as though we belonged in the Second World War.

During the morning we studied the lives of Jewish children just prior to the outbreak of war and we learnt about the difficult choices many people had to make in order to survive. We researched the Kindertransport and found out how some Jewish children came to Britain alone as refugees. In the afternoon we took part in a drama workshop where we acted in different scenarios showing the journey made by the Kindertransport refugees. We really do have some quite talented actors, we had a thoroughly great day and learnt so much!
