Year 1

This week we have read the story of 'The Enormous Crocodile' and chose one of the animals from the story. We then looked at what the animal looks like, before making it in clay. It was quite tricky but we kept trying!
Last half term we read the story of 'Handa's Surprise'. Look at the fantastic work on our display!  We wrote our own storyboards, made the different animals, used the Ipads to draw an animal in the African Savanna and created our own imaginary animals on Switch Zoo.
Look at the fantastic homework projects that some of the children in Class 1 have completed at home. They have made their very own zoo!
In our RE lessons this half term, we have been learning about Churches and Synagogues. We know that Churches are special buildings for Christian people and a Synagogue is a special building for Jewish people. We also know some of the features. We used lego to build one of them and then labelled the features [...]
We used the iPads to create our own imaginary animals. Some of them are very funny looking!
This term our new topic is 'On a Safari'. Last week we designed an African animal that we wanted to draw on the Ipad. We tried to make sure we copied our design picture when using TUX paint. Miss Bentley was very please with our work!
Well done to all the children who completed their homework project. Children designed and made a pirate as part of their topic 'Under the Sea'.  Look at some of their fabulous creations!
We worked with Mrs Kelsall to follow a recipe to make Easter chocolate nests. They were yummy!
In Science Week we investigated which material would be the best for Pirate Pete to make his new ship from. We worked in teams to investigate which materials would sink and float before suggesting the material that we thought he should choose.
Last Thursday it was World Book Day. We came to school dressed as our favourite book characters. Have a look at some of our fantastic outfits!
