Y1 Phonics Parent Meeting

This week, Thrybergh Primary hosted a phonics meeting for Y1 parents, where they were invited to find out more about the Year 1 phonics screening check. Mrs Whelpdale explained how the screening is delivered and its purpose.

Following the meeting, parents had the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom to observe a phonics lesson in action. They also took part in a range of phonics activities to help them understand how reading skills are taught and to support preparation for the upcoming screening. It was wonderful to see so many parents attend, and we would like to thank them for their continued support!
