Meet your teachers

Mrs Davis

Hi, my name is Mrs Davis. I really enjoy working with our school’s littlest children. We have so much fun learning and exploring together. I love to read and share new stories with the children, my current favourite is Aliens love underpants. I love spending quality time with my family, we enjoy playing games, going for walks and sharing a bedtime story with my son. I can’t wait to meet you and start our learning journey together!

Mrs Hensby

Hello, my name is Miss Hensby. I am really enthusiastic to be working in the Thrybergh Primary F1/F2 setting this year.

I enjoy writing and creative activities, such as sketching and music. I also have a passion for  science and learning about different places.

I love teaching and have gained experience as a teacher with all primary year groups but I am excited to be returning to the early years setting where we can lay the foundations together that will set all children up to be inspired and resilient learners. I know we are going to have so much fun learning how to read and write and putting in those learning blocks that will help us to become great mathematicians. There is so much for us to explore in the wider world too that I can’t wait to be a part of on your learning journey.

I promise that I will guide you be the best that you can be!

Meet your teaching assistants

Mrs Pickering (1)

Mrs Pickering

Hi boys and girls! I’m Mrs Pickering and I’ve worked at Thrybergh for 22 years. I love everything about my job, especially helping children learn. I love playing with my little grandson and watching him learn new things every day. I like to read stories with him too. Together, we love to take my dog Buddy for walks. I love reading when I have time. My new hobby is gardening and this spring and summer I have loved redesigning my garden and watching everything grow. I can’t wait to welcome back the children I got to know in F1 last year, as well as welcoming some new faces!

Miss Mountain

Hi everyone! I have always taken a keen interest in the education of young children and I love to see children’s progression and achievements. I have a CACHE Level 3 diploma in childcare and previously worked within Sure Start settings, providing quality care and play experiences with children aged 0-4, also experiencing working with children with SEN needs on a 1-1 basis. Children’s education/future is very important and I hope that my experiences, views and opinions as a parent will help make a difference in the education of Thrybergh children.

Mrs Wilbourne

Hi! I’m Mrs Wilbourne and I’ve worked at Thrybergh for about 13 years. My favourite place to be is our Foundation Unit. I love to watch the new children arrive and then see how they grow and change over their very first year of school. It’s amazing! I like to share stories and my favourite book is ‘Barry, the Fish with Fingers’. I’m sure I’ll get the chance to read it to you this year. When I’m not at school, I love to walk or watch films. I also love to garden. I have some beautiful pink flowers in my garden that I think are magic. They open when it’s sunny and close up when it rains! I’m really looking forward to meeting you and getting to know all about you.

Areas of Learning

Throughout the year we will be going on a learning journey, it will start with us exploring the woodland around us and learning about the animals who live there.

Then we will learn about people who help us in our community from the lollipop lady to the police. We will then move onto learning about traditional tales such as The Three Little Pigs etc.

Next, we’ll learn about growing plants/ vegetables which will leads us into talking about farms and farm animals, then as we get closer to the Summer term we’ll talk about holidays and the animals that live under the sea.

Class Information

As we start the school year, we will be doing lots of exploring our classroom and activities that will enable us to get to know each other.

We love to read in our classroom and will be exploring a range of texts throughout the year in our literacy activities, as well as sending reading books home for you to read. We ask that you bring your book bag every day. We will develop numeracy skills through lots of practical activities, such number songs and games.

Our classroom will be set up with lots of  exciting activities and resources for you to explore and the adults in the classroom love to be involved in your play so that we can learn together. We’ll access the outdoors daily, so please ensure you bring weather appropriate clothing to school e.g rainy daywellies and raincoat.

We are really looking forward to being part of your learning journey, we’re going to have a wonderful year!
