Y4/5 have been developing both their reading and writing skills through a range of engaging English activities. While reading Krindlekrax, the children practised using expression when reading aloud, taking on the roles of different characters and performing extracts from the story. They worked hard to vary their tone, volume, and pace to bring the characters to life and convey their emotions, helping to build confidence, fluency, and understanding of the text.
Alongside this, the children have begun an exciting new writing unit on non-chronological reports. They have explored a range of examples, analysing their structure and identifying key features such as headings, subheadings, factual language, and organised paragraphs. This has helped them develop a strong understanding of how information can be presented effectively and will support them as they work towards creating their own high-quality reports. Well done, Year 4/5!
