Y6 Crucial Crew Visit

On Thursday Y6 spent a day at the Lifewise Centre in Hellaby for our Crucial Crew visit.

Crucial Crew is an excellent experience where our Y6 learners take part in different real life scenarios with the aim of learning how to become more independent and knowing the dangers that we can face in the real world!

Some of the scenarios deal with very serious matters such as child criminal exploitation, knife crime and hate crime.  We also learnt about water safety, travel safety, road safety and traffic awareness, and we had the opportunity to see how a court of law operates.

In the court we played the parts of magistrates, defence council, responsible adult, usher and prosecution council and of course an accused young offender!

Mrs Platts and I are so proud of the way our Y6 children took every scenario seriously and reenacted the courtroom scenario. I do think we have some potential police officers and lawyers.

A brilliant day with excellent listening, contribution and attitude.
