Healthy Eating in Y4/5

This week in Science, Y4/5 explored healthy eating by investigating recommended portion sizes for pasta, rice, and sugar. They began by using their prior knowledge and estimation skills to measure out what they thought were appropriate adult portion sizes. After making their predictions, they were shown the actual recommended amounts and compared these with their own measurements.

The children were highly engaged throughout the activity, taking part in thoughtful discussions about the differences they observed. They also applied their maths skills effectively, particularly when measuring and comparing quantities, to support their scientific learning. Well done!
