In Y5/6, as part of their work on materials, the children have been listing and classifying different items. They were particularly keen to look at different types of rocks, and have found out that rock types vary in different places, and that there are different properties for the various types of rocks. The children looked closely at the rock samples, and thought carefully about why observational skills are so important in Science.
