Meet your teachers
Mrs Davis
Hi, my name is Mrs Davis and I will be teaching you on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I really enjoy working with our school’s littlest children. We have so much fun learning and exploring together. I especially love to read and share stories with you, we can go on lots of adventures without leaving our classroom! When I’m not at school I like to spend time with my family. We enjoy playing games and going to lots of parks! I can’t wait to start our learning journey together, we are going to have so much fun!
Mrs Schoeman
Hello, my name is Mrs Schoeman. I am really excited to be teaching you in our F1/F2 setting this year. I enjoy writing and creative activities, such as art and music. I also have a passion for science and learning about new places. I know we are going to have so much fun learning how to read and write and putting in those learning blocks that will help us to become great mathematicians. There is so much for us to explore in the wider world too! I can’t wait to be a part of your learning journey.
Meet your teaching assistants
Mrs Pickering
Hi boys and girls! I’m Mrs Pickering and I’ve worked at Thrybergh for 22 years. I love everything about my job, especially helping children learn. I love playing with my little grandson and watching him learn new things every day. I like to read stories with him too. Together, we love to take my dog Buddy for walks. I love reading when I have time. My new hobby is gardening and this spring and summer I have loved redesigning my garden and watching everything grow. I can’t wait to welcome back the children I got to know in F1 last year, as well as welcoming some new faces!
Miss Mountain
Hi everyone, My name is Miss Mountain.
I have always taken a keen interest in the education of young children and I love to see children’s progression and achievements. I have a CACHE Level 3 diploma in childcare and previously worked within Sure Start settings, providing quality care and play experiences with children aged 0-4, also experiencing working with children with SEN needs on a 1-1 basis. Children’s education/future is very important and I hope that my experiences, views and opinions as a parent will help make a difference in the education of Thrybergh children.
Mrs Wilbourne
Hi! I’m Mrs Wilbourne and I’ve worked at Thrybergh for about 13 years. My favourite place to be is our Foundation Unit. I love to watch the new children arrive and then see how they grow and change over their very first year of school. It’s amazing! I like to share stories and my favourite book is ‘Barry, the Fish with Fingers’. I’m sure I’ll get the chance to read it to you this year. When I’m not at school, I love to walk or watch films. I also love to garden. I have some beautiful pink flowers in my garden that I think are magic. They open when it’s sunny and close up when it rains! I’m really looking forward to meeting you and getting to know all about you.
Areas of Learning
Each half term, we will have a different focus topic and will share focus books which are related to these. Our first topic in September will be ‘Who lives in the woods?’. Our main areas of learning in Foundation are: Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication and Language; Physical Development; Understanding the World; Expressive Arts and Design; Literacy and numeracy.
This year we will learn about numbers and words through stories, songs and rhymes. There are some amazing adults to help you and we are going to have so much fun participating in a vast variety of activities that will teach and secure all of our early years learning goals. We are going to have the best time together exploring, learning and having fun together.
Class Information
We have so many resources in our classroom and outdoor areas for you to discover and explore. We are so excited to be sharing in your very first experience of school and just know we are going to have lots of fun together. We know you will make many new friends, playing together in our lovely classroom and outside area and we can’t wait to spend the next year learning and growing with you. We will be able to send photos of your adventures over the year through our Class Dojo so that your grown up will be able to share your learning adventures at home too! Our classroom
is a wonderful place to be, with so many areas to play and learn in alongside your friends and we can’t wait for you to join us in Foundation.
