Y6 Character Roleplay

To deepen their understanding of the characters in Black Powder by Ally Sherrick, Y6 stepped into the roles of Father Oliver, Tom’s father, and Tom himself. By exploring these characters through drama, pupils were able to better understand their motivations and how they feel about one another.

Although some of them found this activity a little outside our comfort zone, it proved to be a powerful way to build empathy and gain a richer insight into the characters and their relationships. Well done, Y6!
