As part of Geography Careers Month, today we have been extremely excited and fortunate to welcome Olivia into our school to speak to some of our children.
Olivia is currently studying Wildlife Conservation at The University of Salford. She explained to the children the path that she followed to get into university and then explained lots of the incredible opportunities that she’s been given during studying her course- she’s recently just returned from a year long placement at Otterbein University in Ohio where she’s worked closely studying the conservation of possums, raccoons, turtles, elephants plus many more amazing animals.
Olivia’s next adventure could see her off to Bolivia in South America to look at the conservation of big cats. She’s also being given the opportunity to travel to Ireland to work closely with the seals and sea lions.
The children were absolutely fascinated and so engrossed. Geography is such an incredible subject which opens doors to some incredible careers/ opportunities which Olivia showcased to our children with great passion and enthusiasm.
The children have also achieved another pledge from their participation this afternoon.
