First Aid at Thrybergh Primary

This week, children across Thrybergh Primary took part in a First Aid Schools session, and learnt so much! First, they focused how they might help somebody in specific situations, such as choking. Everyone also learned how to respond in an emergency, with Y6 even learning how to do chest compression CPR, as well as how to find and use a defibrillator.

An important life skill some year groups learnt was how to dial the emergency services, and how to answer the questions they would likely be asked by the dispatcher. Finally, the children learnt that if an injury is dry (like a bump or bruise), they put something cold on it, then they practiced putting pressure on a would for 60 seconds, then bandaging it.

The children were fantastic, and really enjoying getting involved with the activities – well done, Thrybergh Primary!
