This half term in Science, Year 2 have been learning all about forces. As part of their learning, they carried out a fair test to investigate how a toy car travels across different surfaces.
We made sure to change only one variable – the surface the car travelled on. The surfaces tested were carpet, bubble wrap, and sandpaper. From the experiment, the children discovered how friction affects movement. The car travelled the furthest across sandpaper, showing it has less friction, while the bubble wrap almost stopped the car completely, proving it creates the most friction.
Excellent learning this afternoon, Year 2!
