Maths in Y1

This week in Maths, Y1 have been focusing on numbers up to 100. The children explored how numbers are made up of tens and ones, using a variety of hands-on resources and manipulatives that they’ve become confident with over the year – such as base ten blocks, place value counters, and number lines. This practical approach really helped bring the concepts to life and reinforced their understanding in a fun and engaging way.

It was fantastic to see how much progress they’ve made, with many showing great confidence when representing numbers in different ways. Their focus, and problem-solving skills have really shone through.

We’re incredibly proud of how far they’ve come, well done Y1!
